4 Area High Schools Ranked in AP Football Poll

District play has begun in high school football, and 4 area high schools are ranked in the top 10 in each of their divisions.

In Class 4A, the Cuero Gobblers beat Sweeny last week  23-16, and that win helped them retain a #5 ranking with a 5-0 record; Refugio held on to a #6 ranking in the Class 2A top 10 after shutting out Ganado 48-0, upping their record to 4-1; Hallettsville is 5-1 and remained at #9 in Class 3A, and Yoakum, also 5-1, is ranked #10 in Class 3A.

In this week's action, Victoria East plays Victoria West, St. Joe takes on Ft. Bend Christian, Sealy is at El Campo, Beeville at La Vernia, Gonzales at Columbus, Cuero battles Aransas Pass, Wharton is at Sinton, Hallettsvile travels to Industrial, Yoakum at Palacios, Edna at Van Vleck, Goliad at Mathis, Bloomington at East Bernard, Refugio at Yorktown, and Gado at Kenedy.
