If the purpose of a music video teaser is to leave viewers scratching their heads and looking forward to the full video, Adam Lambert has succeeded with the dark and edgy 17-second teaser for ‘Never Close Our Eyes’ that surfaced online today.

The preview contains a series of seemingly random elements: close-up eyes, security cameras, a bunch of blue and white pills, scary-looking guys in helmets and masks and a single-file line of people in a mysterious white room. At the end of the clip, we see Lambert, who sits up and takes off his hoodie.

What do all these images mean? We’ll find out when the complete video is released sometime soon. Earlier this month, Lambert tweeted a photo from the video shoot that showed the singer and an entourage of dancers dressed in dirty, loose-fitting clothing.

‘Never Close Our Eyes,’ is a danceable song from ‘Trespassing’ that Lambert worked on with hitmakers Dr. Luke and Bruno Mars. He performed the track on ‘American Idol‘ last week. ‘Trespassing’ was released on May 15 and could debut at No. 1 when the new charts are announced on Wednesday.
