Ya know what COVID-19 can't do? It can't stop a real Texan's love for a barbeque!

The great state of Texas has once again dominated this year's list of nominees for the BBQ Hall of Fame. For the third straight year, a Texan is going to win the award. Austin's Aaron Franklin has been selected as the 2020 Hall of Famer. This is so cool!

Franklin has been on the seen in the capital city for several years now. He started out with just a little BBQ food truck and now runs his own brick and mortar store at 900 E 11th St in Austin. I've lived in Texas since 2016 and have had the pleasure of eating at Franklin's. It's amazing! When I saw he was a finalist for this year's BBQ Hall of Fame I made a point to check back to see how he was doing. Aaron is a funny guy who truly loves making great BBQ! He has been a part of several MasterClass sessions online and I think if you watch one of his lessons you'll see how likable a guy he is, and that he really knows the craft of great brisket, ribs, pulled pork and tons more!

Aaron's win keeps the Hall of Fame award in Texas for the third year in a row. Lots of people know the name  C. B. “Stubb” Stubblefield who took home the award last year. 2018's winner was Texas' own  Norma Frances “Tootsie” Tomanetz.

Along with Aaron's Masterclass series online he has already written 2 books about his love for BBQ over his 11-year career. He's come a long way in a short time and if you make your way over to the capital city this summer you should definitely stop by and grab some BBQ to go. The cafe at Franklin's is currently closed according to Aaron's website but it may be a silver lining that most of his customers still remember buying his BBQ from the food truck and are already used to take out.
