‘Jersey Shore’ cast member DJ Pauly D has been announced as a special guest on the tour for a short string of August dates, running from the Grand Rapids, Michigan show on August 17 through Charlotte, N.C. on August 25. He joins a crowded slate of opening acts that includes Jessie and the Toy Boys, Nervo and Nicki Minaj.
During a recent live chat with fans, Lovato announced that her next album will be released September 20. According to Lovato, the new collection is “the coolest album I have ever done,” and will feature a bit of a sonic shift. As she put it, “I am showcasing my vocals more like I did on ‘Skyscraper.’”
Cher’s musical career has been fairly low profile since she scored a massive late ’90s hit with ‘Believe,’ but her influence continues to be felt in the larger-than-life style of many younger artists — including Lady Gaga, who’s planning to acknowledge that debt with a duet that just might melt the dance floor.
They’re teaming up to record ‘The Greatest Thing,’ a song Gaga offered Cher for her upcoming album.
Donnie Wahlberg got a reminder of this during a recent stop on the New Kids’ joint tour with the Backstreet Boys, when he wandered into the stands while they performed ‘Tonight.’ Presented with the opportunity to get a piece of a real live New Kid, one particularly zealous fan latched on, and wasn’t in any hurry to let go.
The next time you’re at the karaoke machine, choose your song carefully — you never know who might be listening.
That was the lesson learned by guests at a Malibu, California wedding last Friday, when none other than Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez dropped by. As it turns out, the star lovebirds were apparently driving past the reception when they heard someone singing Bieber’s ‘One Less Lonely Girl,’ and decided to have a closer listen.
Released on Tuesday, with the video making its official debut on E! Wednesday, ‘Skyscraper’ represents Lovato’s return to music after a two-year layoff. Her last full-length album, ‘Here We Go Again,’ was released in July of 2009, spinning off a top 40 single with the title track.
For alt-rock fans with long memories, Johnny Depp isn’t just a world-famous actor, he’s also the guy who played guitar and bass for Butthole Surfer frontman Gibby Haynes’ short-lived group P. But for pretty much everyone else, the sight of Depp rocking out with Alice Cooper on a London stage comes as a shock.
Depp joined Cooper for the latter’s show in London’s 100 Club over the weekend, an appearance teased by Cooper when he posted a backstage picture to his Facebook account with the caption “Johnny Depp!! Waiting to jump on stage with Alice for ’18′ and ‘Schools Out!’”
Beyoncé skipped out on the 2011 BET Awards last night, but she had a good excuse: she was making history at England’s Glastonbury Music Festival.
Strange as it might sound in the 21st century, Beyoncé became the first African-American to headline Glastonbury over the weekend — and she did it in style, bringing her dazzling stage show and a hit-packed set list to the festival, while still making room for a pair of tracks from her latest solo release, ’4.’
Ah, Prince. Whether he’s changing his name to a symbol, scrawling slogans on his face, threatening to sue his fans, or publicly daydreaming about a world in which no one is allowed to cover his songs, he’s always good for a provocative quote or two.
His latest interview, with the UK’s Guardian, didn’t disappoint.
