In possibly the most heartwarming news of the year, the Make-a-Wish foundation has granted the wish of five year-old Batman super fan Miles, who will get to dress as his favorite crime-fighting superhero and defeat some of the caped crusader's famous villains. The foundation is turning San Francisco into the streets of Gotham for a day just so little Miles can make his dreams come true!

According to SFGate, the Make-a-Wish foundation is doing something exceptional for a young boy named Miles, who, like Batman, knows a little something about fighting. Miles is battling Leukemia, and it's his wish to be Batman for a day, so the foundation -- with the cooperation of thousands of generous, big-hearted volunteers -- is turning San Francisco into Gotham for a day to make his wish come true.

On November 15, Miles and his adult Batman sidekick will get a special call from the police chief asking him to help defeat villains Penguin and Riddler and save the streets of Gotham. The official lowdown:

After rescuing a damsel in distress from the cable car tracks in Nob Hill, and capturing the Riddler in the act of robbing a downtown vault, Batman will eat his lunch at the Burger Bar in San Francisco – directly above Union Square. While at Burger Bar, he will get a call on his batphone to go to the window – where he will look down and see a huge group of volunteers jumping up and down asking for Batman’s help. Why?

Because the Penguin will be kidnapping a famous Gotham City mascot! The getaway car will be visible on Union Square (a convertible so that everyone can see what is happening), and the chase will be on!

After catching the Penguin, Batman will make his final stop at City Hall, where the Mayor and the Police Chief of Gotham City will thank him and give him the key to the city. We plan on having hundreds of volunteers and donors collected to cheer and thank our Batman!

Make-a-Wish is planning on keeping the public updated with reports and photos from this very special day. Until then, we'll just pretend not to notice that you're wiping your eyes over there.
