A number of Baylor University regents and the university vice president are being sued by former football coach Art Briles over alleged false statements made about the mishandling of reports alleging sexual and physical assaults by football players.

The suit filed by Briles who was fired last May, also alleges that university officials conspired to damage his reputation to prevent him from getting another coaching job. He is also asking for damages for emotional distress, and that the allegations likely ended any prospects of future coaching jobs.

In the suit, Briles is asking that university officials release any documents and sworn testimony related to the case.
