Boy George Is Almost Literally Half the Man He Used to Be [PHOTO]

Culture Club lead singer and legal trouble magnet Boy George stepped out in London Sunday night (Feb. 17) at the WhatsOnStage.com Awards to show off a svelte new bod. In fact if he wasn’t in an oversized hat and enough makeup to make RuPaul say “guurrrrl, please,” he might’ve been completely unrecognizable.

George credited his dramatic weight loss to nutritionist Amelia Freer, whom he promoted via Twitter.

But if you can’t afford a fancy schmancy nutritionist, the uber-80s one recommended, “Portion control. 5 hour gaps between meals. No coffee or tea, except at meals. Water & fizzy water between meals!”

Also recommended: affecting some fashionable stubble and losing the longtime heroin habit.

The singer was under the media microscope back in 2009 after facing assault charges for tying up a man and beating him with a chain in his flat (no, that’s not a body part — it’s what they call an “apartment” across the pond). He faced 15 months in jail, but was released for good behavior after only four.

At the time, Boy George was attacked by the media for being fat, a celebrity sin which is apparently far worse than using one’s living room to reenact scenes from the ‘Saw’ franchise. Of course now that he’s slimmed down, watch the British tabloids blare that he has some incurable disease and start a death clock.
