Here's some news that's bound to keep the fine people of Charleston, West Virginia up at night.

Charleston has been named the most sleepless city in America, according to The Daily Beast, which came up with its rankings based on the percentage of people who suffer from insomnia.

Charleston has a population of slightly more than 950,000 people, 10.2 percent of which were afflicted with insomnia in the last year. About two-and-a-half percent said they experienced severe insomnia during that time, while 3.6 percent were so desperate to catch some Zs they turned to prescription drugs for help.

Mount Vernon, Illinois took second place, with 9.1 percent of the population calling themselves insomniacs during the last year.
