Finding a date — let alone a life partner — is hard enough, but the dating website BeautifulPeople.com has just made things a little more difficult for their paying members.

The site, as the name implies, only allows attractive men and women to flirt and mingle amongst each other. However, a virus dubbed ‘Shrek’ infiltrated the site last month, allowing tens of thousands of newbies to become members without going through the proper vetting process, first.

That process included a 48-hour voting time where current members decided whether the applicant was hot enough to join them. The virus removed the voting period, meaning those with large noses, beady eyes and too much body hair were admitted. The horror!

Now that BeautifulPeople.com — which wasn’t accessible at last check — has done away with the virus, it’s booted 30,000 Shreks out of their system.

Site owner Greg Hodge tells the Guardian, “We have to stick to our founding principles of only accepting beautiful people.”

He went onto say that members pay to only communicate with attractive elites and that the site, “can’t just sweep 30,000 ugly people under the carpet.”
