Demi Lovato is kicking off the new year right. Not only will she be hosting MTV’s New Year’s Eve celebration, but the 19-year-old will also be performing at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards.

“Demi is a brilliant performer, a strong role model and a true fan favorite,” executive producer Mark Burnett announced in a press release on Monday. “We’re thrilled to have her on board for the People’s Choice Awards and look forward to a truly electrifying performance.”

Lovato has been nominated for Favorite Pop Artist at the forthcoming awards show, battling Rihanna, Beyonce, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga for the honor. The People’s Choice Awards celebrates the best in music, film and television, and the winners are chosen by fan voting.

The ‘Skyscraper’ singer isn’t the only performer of the evening. Faith Hill will also grace the stage at the event next month, likely performing her latest single, ‘Come Home,’ which was released on Nov. 9. The country star is getting ready to unveil her new album, ‘Illusion,’ which is due in stores in early 2012.

The 2012 People’s Choice Awards will take place at the Nokia Theater L.A. Live on Wednesday, Jan. 11. Fans can watch the show that night at 9PM on CBS.
