Alcohol is known to be a social lubricant. But many people also use booze to help them recover from too much action and interaction.

According to a Drinkaware survey of more than 2,00 adults, 66 percent said that they often drink to unwind from a stressful day.

The survey also found that 44 percent are more likely to drink if they are under stress, and 37 percent begin thinking of alcohol on the way home from a stressful day at work.

Addiction experts warn that alcohol can be a “false friend” when dealing with stress.
