Donald Trump is dropping his latest frivolous, attention-starved lawsuit against Bill Maher.

Back in February, the orange-skinned mogul filed a $5 million claim against Maher over a remark that the 'Real Time' host made on 'The Tonight Show.' Maher told Jay Leno said he'd donate $5 million to charity if Trump proved he's not the result of his mother mating with an orangutan -- and when Trump did just that, not realizing the hyperbolic nature of the statement, Maher didn't deliver.

This made Trump angry enough to lawyer up, but he's backing down, perhaps understanding that he's making primates everywhere look more evolved in comparison.

TMZ reports that Trump filed motions on March 29 to dismiss the case, but his rep warns that it may not be the end.

Trump's Executive V.P. and special counsel said, "The lawsuit was temporarily withdrawn to be amended and refiled at a later date."

There's no indication as to when that date is, but hopefully by then Trump will find that link he's been missing. And maybe stop looking to apes for hair styling tips.
