Attending college is pretty important for students graduating high school but, as any parent knows, paying for it can be too much to afford for some families. Sure, there are grants and scholarships, but those can be limiting and hard to get and, how do you even apply, and what options are there?

Those questions will be answered at an event called 'Way To Pay Day", scheduled for February 20th at the UHV University Center on N. Ben Wilson.

The event takes place from 10 am to 2 pm, and will offer students and their families  presentations on how to find financial aid, help with filling out aid applications, writing scholarship essays, and other related assistance.

Students can bring their or their families' W-2s or income tax returns and get help from UHV and VC financial aid specialists.

Free transportation will even be available for this important free event from the Boys & Girls Club of Victoria, just call 361-573-4411 Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm to schedule.

GenTX is a community partnership of UHV, VC, VISD, VITA Crossroads, Workforce Solutions of the Golden Crescent, the Boys & Girls Club of Victoria, Children's Discovery Museum, VISD Education Foundation, Victoria Public Library, H.E.B., Lamar Advertising, and DeLeon Club of Victoria.
