The University of Houston-Victoria men’s and women’s soccer teams will be known as road warriors as they begin their first season of competition in the Red River Athletic Conference.

The Jaguars will have just five home games during the 2015 season, including three RRAC contests according to UHV head soccer coach Adrian Rigby.

Rigby released the Jaguars’ schedule this week with UHV to open the 2015 season on the road in San Antonio against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma at the Our Lady of the Lake soccer field. The game is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 29 with the women hitting the pitch at 1 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 3 p.m.

The Jaguars’ home opener is set for Friday, Sept. 4, when the Jaguars host Wayland Baptist. The Jaguars will also host the University of Mobile on Sunday, Sept. 6 as their only other non-conference home game.

The Jaguars open conference play on Thursday, Oct. 1 at Wiley College. UHV’s first home conference game is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10 against the University of the Southwest. The Jaguars will also host Huston-Tillotson on Oct. 29 and Our Lady of the Lake on Oct. 31.

UHV fans will be able to get a good preview of the 2015 team as the Jaguars will host several preseason scrimmages.

The annual Red & White game is set for Aug. 15, while the UHV women will host Monterrey Tech on Aug. 16. After a trip to Laredo for scrimmages against Texas A&M-International on Aug. 19, the teams return home with the men hosting Laredo Community College and the men and women hosting Paul Quinn on Aug. 22 in their final tune ups before opening the regular season.
