As expected, right-wing conservatives and FOX News (we use that word loosely) were none too happy about Jim Carrey's 'Hee-Haw'-inspired video that called for gun control through song and mocked late NRA president Charlton Heston.

In response, a petition was created to send Carrey back to Canada, and FOX's Greg Gutfeld spewed a few nasty rants about the actor.

Gutfeld, co-host of 'The Five,' opened the show by railing against “has-been” Carrey (someone teach this man the definition of that term) and referring to the comedian as a “roiling bucket of sewage.”

He also calls Jim a “simpering tool” who is as “hateful as the KKK.” Whoa, settle down there, cowboy.

“How can you let this odious twerp defile Heston’s memory? You should regurgitate Carrey like a cat upchucking a feces-encrusted furball,” Gutfeld sputtered, adding that wanting gun control is the same as ripping firearms out of the hands of Navy Seals. Because that's totally true and stuff.

Silly as it seems, Gutfeld isn't alone in his feelings, so now a petition has cropped up to deport the actor, who was born in Canada but is now a dual-citizen.

As the petition (via Change.org) states:

Canadian Citizen and Comedian Actor Jim Carrey is engaged in a hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution by targeting the Second Amendment. We demand that Jim Carrey be deported immediately for his effort to undermine the Bill of Rights and for exploiting his position as a national known Comedian & Actor to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens.

A couple thousand people have already signed the oddly-capitalized petition, but we hope this thing doesn't get out of control. We don't want a 'Blame Canada' situation happening in real life.
