Three girls whose police officer father was killed in the line of duty in December got a special treat on Wednesday (June 20) when Justin Bieber, in New York to promote his ‘Believe’ album, stopped to chat and pose for photographs with them.

The New York Post reports that Corrine, Caitlyn and Christine Figoski were in attendance outside the Ed Sullivan Theater, where Bieber was performing on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman.’ Bieber’s security team was made aware of the girls’ presence and the young star said, “Of course I’ll take a photo with them.” The officer’s fourth daughter, Caroline, was not present.

Peter Figoski was killed on Dec. 12 when he was shot in the face while breaking up a robbery in Brooklyn. Figoski had received several medals for exceptional police duty and was hailed as a hero in the aftermath of his death.

The Figoski girls obviously had to endure a terrible tragedy, so it’s great that Justin was able to put a smile on their faces and comfort them in some small way. Bieber’s NYC visit has included a number of inspiring encounters in addition to simply promoting his music. Earlier this week he received a prestigious honor when Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer declared it Justin Bieber / J&R Appreciation Day in the city.
