Justin Bieber was joined by guitarist Carlos Santana on ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ last night (Dec. 31.) The fact that The Biebs was playing with a guitar legend like Santana essentially guaranteed that he wouldn’t be playing any of his teen-friendly hits like ‘Baby’ or ‘Never Say Never’ and that was okay.

Bieber actually whispered words of wisdom and performed the Beatles classic ‘Let it Be.’ It was a terrific choice and the teen idol did a great job with this enduring tune.

The Biebs performed the song while seated at a piano, wearing a red beanie, red jeans, a camel-colored pea coat and classic pattern Burberry scarf while Santana rocked a Bob Marley hoodie. Generations collided in style and in performance, that’s for sure, as 2012 was upon us.

The Biebs did a fine job with the song, once again showing his maturity and musical breadth by performing a classic. He played the song solo for the first minute or so and then Santana jammed out a riff while The Biebs tickled the ivories and gave shout outs to NYC.

Rock fans have one less reason to hate on The Biebs courtesy of this performance.
