Continuing his campaign for the title of Best Boyfriend Ever, Justin Bieber did indeed join girlfriend Selena Gomez at her UNICEF concert last night. Continuing her campaign for Best Daughter Ever, Gomez dedicated a song to her mother, Mandy.

The Biebs was on hand to give Gomez a hug at the conclusion of her set, as well as to serve another purpose. Hollywood Life reported that Bieber was backstage during the concert watching over Gomez’s beloved puppy, Baylor. Awww!

Bieber wasn’t the only guest on hand at Gomez’s acoustic gig. The ‘Spring Breakers‘ starlet performed with pals Big Time Rush, and fellow Disney darling Ashley Tisdale joined Sel backstage.

While the show was filled with moving moments, the most touching may have been Gomez’s dedication to her mother, Mandy, who suffered a miscarriage in December. Before launching into her cover of Miranda Lambert‘s ‘The House That Built Me,’ Gomez took a moment to recognize that while her mom wasn’t there in person, the message would get to her eventually. ”My mom couldn’t be here today,” Gomez told the crowd. “I know these songs are gonna be on YouTube, so Mom, this one’s for you!”

It’s great that so many of Sel’s pals joined her to support such a great cause. It was also a great showcase of Gomez’s vocal talent — she sounds great acoustic! Perhaps this will be a good direction for her to take once she’s back to recording.
