One of the most awarded and recognized Latin musicians in the industry, Jose Feliciano will be performing with the Victoria Symphony on Saturday, January 22nd.

One of Jose Feliciano's most recognized songs is one you probably heard many times last month, bringing a smile to your face and a sense of true South Texas joy when you listened to and likely sung aloud to 'Feliz Navidad.' Jose Feliciano's Feliz Navidad is considered one of the most revered and recognized Christmas songs of all time. And that's just one of his many, many hit songs. Songs like “Light My Fire, and "California Dreaming' as well as “Cuando El Amor Se Acaba' are just a glimpse of the musical genius behind Feliciano's composing and playing ability that has afforded this legendary performer over forty-five Gold and Platinum records and nine Grammy Awards.

Did you know this living music legend is also blind?

Born blind, Feliciano never let that hinder his desire to learn to play the Latin music he adored as the boy from Puerto Ric,o who would later grow up to play 50's rock in the Spanish Harlem of New York. He learned to play his first instrument, the accordion, by the time he was seven. And then came the guitar.

According to the Victoria Symphony website Jose Feliciano, is recognized as the first Latin artist to cross over into the English music market, opening the doors for other artists who now play an important role in the American music industry. Feliciano has been acclaimed by critics around the world as “The greatest living guitarist.
