Who would ever imagine a 18 month old baby  having a stroke? It happens and it happen to Lola Anderson. According to the National Stroke Association they estimate vary strokes affects about six in a 100,000 children.  At the time of Lola's stroke  her parents Fairleigh Rose and Clint Anderson lived in Port Lavaca. Her mom Rose noticed that morning Lola was more quiet than often. She took her to the sitter and told her if she noticed anything to call her. When Rose returned to pick up Lola she noticed the right side of her face was drooping and noticed Lola wasn't herself. Rose then took  her to DeTar North. The pediatrician on call thought Lola's condition was Bell's Palsy. Lola then didn't want to use the right side of her body including her arm and leg. She then was sent home with prednisone. Rose then followed up with her pediatricians the next day. She mention to the pediatrician that she thought Lola had a stroke but the pediatrician agreed that it was Bell's Palsy. The family then was referred to a pediatric neurologist in San Antonio where an MRI was done and confirmed it was a stroke Lola had. After more testing the family learned Lola has Factor V Leiden, which is an inherited disorder of blood clotting.  She now takes an aspirin a day for the clotting disorder. The stroke affected her motor skills on her right side. She went through physical and occupational therapy soon after the stroke. Lola will be celebrating her 8th birthday in February. She is a first grader at HJM Elementary School. She enjoys the outdoors fishing, hunting and even takes barrel racing lessons.

Lola's has a huge support team that consist of her parents, grandparents, her stepfather Bowen Rose, and her father's girlfriend Kimberly Brannan.
