Michael Christmas is back. After releasing his debut album What a Weird Day last October, the Boston rapper comes through with his first two tracks of 2016. One is called "Bubbling" (above) with production handled by Swelly, while the other is called "Video Game" (below) produced by by Young Vagisil.

Both cuts see Michael Christmas building off the amiable vibe that the MC displayed on his debut LP. That positive outlook is reflected in his rhymes, though life has not always been so kind to Christmas.

Michael Christmas did a fascinating interview with Noisey around the time of his What a Weird Day release, providing insight into his journey as a person. Christmas described his trouble growing up without any close friends. He also provided an interesting outlook on life that he currently holds.

"Every day I really feel like I’ma wake up in eighth grade,” Christmas said. “And I’m gonna still have the fade. I’m still gonna be wearing the blue fucking uniform that says Mission Grammar on the chest, and I’m still gonna be in my classroom not doing homework, not doing classwork, but writing raps in my composition notebook. Because all this is - I really felt helpless. I felt helpless in 2012 and every year before that. I felt helpless. I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted to rap. But how does one become a rapper in Boston? How do you become the rapper in Boston? I just had no idea how I was going to do it.”

The "Are You Around" rapper is clearly in a good spot now as he's figured out how to make it as an MC in Boston.
