May 2012 is well underway, which means it’s time for a new songs on the radio recap for the merry month of spring. May is a big month for music releases this year. Artists like hip-hop hitmaker B.o.B and pop duo Karmin are both dropping new (and in the latter’s case, debut) albums, and with these albums come whole new batch of songs for fans to enjoy well into the summer months.

B.o.B’s ‘Strange Clouds’ landed on May 1, and his collaborative track with Nelly, entitled ‘MJ,’ touched down on the Internet a few days after. The rapper described the meaning behind the track with PopCrush, saying, “A 5-year-old kid enlisted in minor league sports can say, ‘I’m ballin’.’ The CEO of a business down the street getting off of work, making choices in business left and right, getting into his car, he can say, ‘I’m ballin’.’ A college student could crush up the final exam, end up with a 4.0 [GPA], graduate summa cum laude, they could say, ‘I’m ballin’.’ And that’s what it’s about. It’s about ‘MJ’-ing.”

In other new song news for May 2012, Karmin — aka girlfriend/boyfriend musical makers Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan made famous for their YouTube cover of Chris Brown’s ‘Look at Me Now’ — are unleashing their debut LP ‘Hello’ on May 8. The duo have released their title track for their Karminites to enjoy, and it’s an ultra catchy sing-along that blends hip-hop and dance.

Additionally, Kanye West has also been busy in the studio, dropping his G.O.O.D. Music remix to Chief Keef’s ‘I Don’t Like’ with label cohorts like Big Sean. Finally, U.K. hitmaker Labrinth recruited Busta Rhymes for a revamped version of his track ‘Earthquake,’ and the electro reggae-hip-pop tune has the potential to be a huge hit for the U.S. newcomer.

Check out this list of the news songs on the radio for May 2012, and make sure to keep checking back for more tracks as they are released throughout the month.
