There's a hot new trend among teenagers in Oklahoma -- and we emphasize the word "hot."

News 9 reports teens in the state have taken to setting themselves and their friends on fire.

The kids douse their bodies with highly flammable body spray and then light themselves up, becoming the sort of stunt you usually see reserved for movies.

As you might imagine, subjecting yourself to temperatures more suitable for a roast duck in the oven doesn't always go so well. One eighth grader from the town of Shawnee wound up with third degree burns.

Nat Palmer, a boy from Del City, offered some deep insight when explaining what is so appealing about the hobby. He simply said, "What can you say, we're just kids."

Surprisingly, teens setting themselves on fire is nothing new. Here's a look at some instances where youngsters were captured in the, ahem, heat of the moment.
