Rihanna Breaks VEVO Record
Congrats Rihanna! The Bajan beauty’s new video, ‘Where Have You Been,’ broke the VEVO record for the most views in a 24 hour period.
The clip racked up a whopping 4.9 million views within its first 24 hours on VEVO’s site, and it only keeps growing. At the time of VEVO’s announcement, Rihanna had earned 4,937,281 views in the video’s first day on the Web. We bet her clothing choices — and at times lack thereof — helped!
This isn’t the first record Rihanna’s shattered. She earned 20 top 10 hits faster than any other artist in history and is the fourth artist ever to break 1 billion YouTube views. She has more Facebook likes than any other artist and is the most searched pop star on the Internet. Pretty much if a record was set by any musician (save Adele) so far this decade, she likely did it.
VEVO announced — and Rihanna celebrated — the victory with her beloved Navy on Twitter.
NUMBERS ARE IN! After filtering out the BS & triple-checking, @Rihanna #WHYBvideo24hrRECORD stands @ 4,937,281! Congrats! Your move, Bieber.
