Rihanna has worked with some of the best producers in the music industry including The-Dream, Hit-Boy, Dr. Luke, Stargate and Calvin Harris. But for her next album, the pop siren is going to take a different approach when crafting the sound for the project.

“I’m traveling around the world, finding new sounds, and new producers that people don’t really know of,” she tells The Press Association (via Singersroom).

Rihanna feels that since every artist is utilizing the same producers she previously worked with, all the music sounds the same. The ‘When We Found Love’ singer is now looking beyond what’s hot and seeking instrumentals that no one has heard of. “Every album is a step ahead from the one behind. I love experimenting and I love working with different sounds and putting them together so they’re not one-dimensional,” she explains.

We have to agree with Rihanna. If you want to be an influential pop singer, you have to switch your style up and bring a different sound to pop culture. In one simple word, it’s called “growth.”

No confirmation on when Rihanna will release her seventh studio album, although it’s been speculated that it will hit stores during the holiday season.

In the meantime, Rihanna can be seen hugging on Drake in the animalistic video for ‘Take Care.’
