And the Video of the Year at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards is... Rihanna's 'We Found Love!' RiRi beat out Drake, Katy Perry, Gotye and M.I.A. to take home the big award of the night for one of the songs she had performed to open the award show broadcast.

Featured artist Calvin Harris cheered from his spot at the DJ stage as Rihanna took the stage to accept the moon man from host Kevin Hart. "Most importantly, my fans, thank you so much for voting!," she exclaimed. She also gave shout-outs to MTV, her management, and video director Melina Matsoukas.

Remember all the controversy surrounding the 'We Found Love' video? She was accused of plagiarism, was called out by the Irish farmer who owned the property where the video was shot, and then saw the finished product banned in France and criticized by a rape crisis center. Now, RiRi gets the last laugh.

Almost a year after she released 'We Found Love' as the lead single from her 'Talk That Talk' album, the Barbadian beauty has now made history. With a previous Video of the Year win under her belt in 2007 with Jay-Z for 'Umbrella,' Rihanna joins Eminem as the only artists ever to capture MTV's big award twice. Congrats to RiRi on her big win!
