Family and friends of Amanda Moody are coming together to show their support for her. We wish her the best and will be praying for her. Amanda was diagnosed with IDC (Invasive Ductal Carcinoma) Stage 3a Breast Cancer.

For those that don't know her story, she was weaning her youngest child around Dec 2016 when she first started noticing symptoms. She made an appointment with her Ob/Gyn in January 2017, and she was diagnosed as having a clogged duct. After 3 months, having stopped breastfeeding, her symptoms still hadn't resolved. She went in for a follow up at that time, and the doctor ordered an ultrasound. Shortly after, she had a mammogram and an MRI. Based on the studies done, the doctors concluded she had Microcalcifications and a suspicious area of concern. The next step was a needle biopsy. After putting all the results together, she was diagnosed with DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ), and it was suggested she have a lumpectomy by the surgeon. Well, she and her husband Brock decided to get a second opinion in Houston, and they met with a plastic surgeon and general surgeon that was recommended by a friend of hers also battling breast cancer. They went to her appointment the day before leaving for her Florida vacation and scheduled her double mastectomy for August 7th, exactly 3 weeks after she would be coming home from Florida. Unexpectedly, while she was in surgery, they discovered the lymph node involvement, and 5 nodes were removed. A week after surgery, both she and Brock met with the oncologist in Houston. Her next recommended path is chemotherapy every 2 weeks x8 weeks with 2 drugs, then weekly x4 weeks with another drug. The doctor is very optimistic and hopeful she will be cured 100%.

She has remained strong and positive thru all these tests, findings, and surgery. She has reminded her friends and family God is good all the time, and all the time God is good. She is a wife, a mother to 3 beautiful young children aged 2, 4, and 6, and she works part-time. She has never asked for anything other than prayers, so her friends are asking on her behalf. They know there will be many expenses along this journey, including gas, meals, hotel stays, etc as they travel between Victoria and Houston for the months to year ahead. Even if you can't donate any money, they ask you to please continue to pray for her and her family thru this difficult time. She is a fighter, just like her Momma who battled and overcame her own Breast Cancer.
