Today (May 7) celebrities mourned the loss of Hollywood effects legend Ray Harryhausen, celebrated teachers, and obsessed over a murder trial.

First, stars weighed in on Harryhausen, who passed away today at the age of 92. He was responsible for mastering the art of stop motion animation and bringing monsters to life in films like 'One Million Years B.C.' and 'Jason and the Argonauts.'

Meanwhile, it was National Teacher Day, and few people but Bill Gates seemed to recognize it.

And finally, Leah Remini spent the day not concerned with either, but rather with the Jodi Arias murder trial. To each their own.
