T-Pain’s Ex-Manager Files $1 Million Countersuit Against Singer

Earlier this month, T-Pain filed a $1 million lawsuit against his former manager for allegedly cheating him out of money. Now, the management company is hitting back.

In a new report provided by The Blast yesterday (Dec. 17), its revealed that Chase Entertainment has filed a $1 million countersuit against the singer after he allegedly refused to pay them the rightful share of his commissions.

"In a futile effort to come up with a negotiating strategy to help T-Pain leverage his way out of his irrefutable obligation to pay Chase post-termination management commissions, believed to be in excess of $1 million, T-Pain finds himself reduced to fabricating absurd and baseless claims against his former manager," reads the court docs Chase Entertainment filed. "Despite repeated demands by Chase, T-Pain has refused to account or pay Chase for their rightful share of commissions."

Diving further into the claim, Chase Entertainment says they played a significant part in helping the Everything Must Go Vol. 1 artist throughout the years to generate millions, but T-Pain wasted it.

"Sadly much of that money was squandered by T-Pain, despite Chase's entreaties to T-Pain over the years that he control his profligate spending habits," says Chase Entertainment.

Chase's deal with T-Pain states that once terminated, they would collect funds for the next five years. The former management company says they are owed publishing royalties with Universal Music, a five-album deal with RCA, $2 million advance paid to by Universal, digital royalties and many other deals.

As we mentioned earlier this month, T-Pain sued Chase Entertainment for illegally taking commissions for years. In the suit, the singer states that he paid all of the commissions over the years and did so on time. He also accuses his former management company of illegally taking commissions without obtaining a talent license.

While T-Pain hasn't explicitly spoken on these lawsuits, he did let off a tweet about "letting" some things go earlier today. "Just now decided..... I don’t give a shit anymore. Figure it out. Moving on. I’ve had too much success over the last 13 years. I’m good🔉🔉," T-Pain wrote in the tweet.
