Taylor Swift might have found a way to get back in the good graces of her Rhode Island neighbors.

Earlier this summer, Taylor received a lot of bad press -- and nasty tweets -- over blocking access to a popular path near her new mansion in Westerly, R.I. Now, she's giving back to the Rhode Island community, donating a signed guitar to an auction benefiting local charities.

The acoustic guitar, a Baby Taylor from her own instrument line, will go up for bid Sept. 20 in nearby West Warwick, R.I.

"I just think it's so cool that the first person out of the gates to support our efforts is our new Rhode Islander," says former West Warwick mayor J. Michael Levesque. "We should be able to raise a significant amount of money for some very needy West Warwick charities with this very thoughtful and generous donation."

The silent auction is being held in conjunction with several events marking the centennial of West Warwick's incorporation as a town. The money raised will fund a high school scholarship as well as the Station Fire Memorial Foundation. The town's Station nightclub burned to the ground during a concert in 2003, killing 100 people and injuring 200 more.
