SHOWING UP TO THREATEN AN EX-BOYFRIEND

60-year-old Carletha Haynes-Simon went to try to talk to her ex-boyfriend but was denied access inside his new girlfriend's home. Infuriated by this, Haynes yelled, “I’ll kill you and your [expletive],” before leaving “in a rage.”

HER CRIMES CAUGHT ON CAMERA

Later that night around 12:20 am, Haynes was seen walking back to the home. According to records, she then lit an object on fire before setting one of the patio chairs on fire as wellAn oxygen bottle was also found nearby.

9-1-1 was originally contacted but the caller hung up; police were contacted and the caller was contactedbefore an operator could get details. According to the female caller Haynes had threatened them, "left in a rage,and returned to set her patio furniture on fire later that night.

Houston police spoke with Haynes, who admitted to the threats and arsonhowever, she insists she had no intention of ever hurting anyone. When questioned about eh oxygen bottle found at the scene Hayes had an explanation. She admitted that she brought the bottle along and intended to use it to smash her ex-boyfriend's car windows but "decided not to do that."

CHARGED WITH ARSON

Haynes was taken to Houston County Jail on a second-degree felony charge of arson and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
