In an exclusive radio interview with PopCrush, EDM duo The Chainsmokers shared details about working with superstar Korean act BTS on their 2017 collaboration "Best of Me," which marked the first time BTS worked with an American artist on an album track.

Andrew Taggart, one half of the music group, revealed how the song came to be, as well as the prospects of another Chainsmokers and BTS team-up in the future.

"Well, we actually just produced that song and then we sent it to them and were just like, 'Here's like an idea we had.' They just took it and they actually made it into a way bigger song than what we sent them," Taggart said of how the track off the group's album Love Yourself: Her came to fruition. "That was pretty sick."

As for plans to work together again, The Chainsmokers say it's all a matter of finding the right project. If the stars align for them and BTS again, they're down for a collaboration.

"It would just have to be the right thing, I think," Taggart explained. "That worked out pretty well [two years ago]. We just had a beat that we sent them and they took it into their own world."

In the meantime, The Chainsmokers are working on plenty of other collaborations music lovers can look forward to. They've teamed up with 5 Seconds of Summer, Blink 182 and Juice WRLD for songs, some of which have yet to be released. The 5 Seconds of Summer song, "Who Do You Love," is out now. The Chainsmokers are preparing to embark on a tour with the group.

The single is slated to take the radio by storm, as many of The Chainsmokers' past collaborations have, and will be featured on their next album. They haven't set a release date for the collection of songs yet, but are likely to release it in 2019.

"I think this 5 Seconds of Summer collab is the first record on our next album," the group shared.
