Add yet another live-action project to Disney’s growing pile: the studio is developing a live-action film for Peter Pan’s magical sidekick Tinker Bell, who has earned a rather large following in her own right with various animated films and merchandise. In addition to the announcement of this new development, we’ve also learned that Disney has performed a little casting magic, landing Reese Witherspoon for the title role — which is some seriously perfect casting.

According to Variety, Disney is developing the Tinker Bell-centric live-action film under the title Tink. In addition to starring, Witherspoon will also produce the film, adding it to her list of upcoming projects, which includes the new HBO miniseries Big Little Lies, as well as the astronaut drama Pale Blue Dot.

Victoria Strouse (Finding Dory) will write the script for Tink, which is based in part on the classic Peter Pan novel — only this time, Tinker Bell will be the main focus of the story. Not much else is known about the plot or potential release plans at this time. Tink isn’t the only Tinker Bell film in development, either: Melissa McCarthy is attached to star in an untitled Tinker Bell comedy film for director/producer Shawn Levy.

Following the success of Maleficent and Cinderella, Disney is moving full speed ahead with a loaded and ever-growing slate of live-action films based on their classic animated properties: Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book and Bill Condon’s Beauty and the Beast are currently in production, with plans for live-action versions of Dumbo (directed by Tim Burton), Winnie the Pooh and Mulan also in the works.
