Travel Blogger Receives Free Cruise, Gets Shipwrecked [VIDEO]

When travel blogger “Adventurous Kate” was asked to review the Perama cruise tour in Indonesia in exchange for a free cruise, we imagine she was a little more than ecstatic. But when she heard a disconcerting thud and felt her boat sinking in the middle of Indonesia’s waters mid-sail, that excitement took a major plunge.

She and other boatmates scrambled for available life jackets — half of which were not usable –and jumped into the water so they could swim to the closest land. Unfortunately for Kate, that was Komodo Island, a small piece of land filled with deadly Komodo dragons. Kate had blogged months before about the five places she’d never visit and, naturally, Komodo Island was on that list.

Other passengers on the boat reported that their belongings had been stolen while aboard. Everyone survived the shipwreck and nobody was seriously injured.
