Hometown: Houston, Texas

High School/Previous School: J. Frank Dobie High School

Statistics for the Week: Mendoza stepped up big for the Jaguars in a three-game sweep over Southwest Assemblies of God University collecting his first collegiate home run. In five games for the Jaguars this week, he compiled a 0.455 batting average going 5-for-11 at the plate with two RBI and three runs. Along with his home run he also had two doubles as he compiled a 0.909 slugging percentage. He had a .500 on-base percentage and stole two bases. He did not commit an error in 14 chances at shortstop.

 What advice would you give to a younger player about the sport you are involved in that would help them improve? Work will win, wishing won’t.

 What is you background and experience in the sport you participate in? I have played teeball all the way through college.
