Player: Eden Favela, Second Baseman

Hometown: Dayton, Texas

High School/Previous School: Navarro College

Statistics for the Week: Paced the Jaguars at the plate in a doubleheader sweep against Huston-Tillotson. She compiled a .800 batting average going 4-for-5 at the plate with two triples, two RBI, two runs scored and two walks. She had a 1.600 slugging percentage and a .857 on-base percentage.

What advice would you give to a younger player about the sport you are involved in that would help them improve? Even though you think you have plenty of time, it goes by really fast. Take every practice seriously and act like it’s your last. Also, appreciate all you teammates, they are your family.

What is you background and experience in the sport you participate in? I started playing when I was 10 in a league for my hometown for two years. Then I started playing select ball for the next 6 or 7 years. I committed to Cisco College and the next year transferred to Navarro College, before coming to UHV.

What is the song you like to hear for your walk-up music or that gets you into the mood for the game? “Make It Bun-dum”

What is your favorite food? All food, athletes have to eat.

Who is your favorite athlete? Brian Cushing

What is your Major: Biology
