University of Houston-Victoria students who want to learn about running a county health department can do so in an intern program set for this fall.

The university and the county have agreed to a 5-year deal that allows the county to hire UHV students for unpaid positions that in many cases, will give them college credits.

The internships are open to students of any major but, UHV officials say they are of particular interest to students interested in health care administration, communications, and health studies.

Students interested in the program can call 361-570-4378 for more information.
