We're animal lovers in our house. My wife and I have always said that if we had the land, we'd love to have an animal rescue on it. Naturally, when we hear about animal cruelty, it really saddens us. That's the subject of this week's Victoria Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week. The official press release follows below.

On June 15, 2016 at 3:00 pm, Victoria Animal Control Officers responded to the Cozzi Court Apartments in reference to an anonymous report of Animal Cruelty.  According to the complainant,  a Chihuahua had been kicked multiple times and thrown into the dumpster.

Animal Control located the dog and transported it to the vet for treatment, but unfortunately the Chihuahua died. Police are now asking for your help to identify the person responsible for this horrific crime.

If you have information about this crime, contact Victoria Crime Stoppers at 361-572-4200.  If the information you give to Crime Stoppers leads to an arrest or charges being filed, you can earn a cash reward up to $10,000.00.

Crime Stoppers pays.
