These days, you can never be too careful. It;s up to us as a community to look out for each other, especially when it comes to those that are most vulnerable namely, our children. That;s why this alert from the Victoria Police Department is especially important.

On March 3, 2015, at 4:23 pm, the Victoria Police Department received information in reference to suspicious activity in the 3000 block of Houston Highway.  Two children ages  7 & 9, were approached by two males wearing black shirts and a female wearing a white shirt.  The subjects were in a black two door truck. The subjects offered the children a ride, but did not get out of their vehicle or approach the children.  The children were unharmed and did not accept a ride. The same kind of thing happened again.

On March 11, 2015, at 4:30 pm, the Victoria Police Department received a similar complaint. The complainant stated that her child was riding her bicycle in the 2300 block of N. Deleon Street when a black or blue four door vehicle pulled up and asked the child if she had seen his dog.  The driver was described as an older, dark complected male.  According to the complainant, the driver stopped his vehicle close to the child and reached across the vehicle as if attempting to grab the child.  The suspicious person/vehicle was spotted by the complainant and left the area quickly.

The Victoria Police Department has canvassed the area, but is still trying to identify the subjects in both incidents.  We are asking for the community’s assistance with identifying these subjects.

If you have information regarding these persons, contact the Victoria Police Department at 361-573-3221.
