It's that time of year again. The kids are out of school and you are probably looking for something constructive for them to do to pass the time instead of vegging out in front of the TV with video games all summer. Well, the Victoria Public Library is getting ready to kick off one of their biggest programs of the year in their Summer Reading Program. Don't let the name Summer fool you, they also have great programs throughout the year for your little ones of all ages.

From the Victoria Public Library:

Looking for Something to Do This Summer? Check out the Victoria Public Library! Celebrate summer at the Library Fun Fest 2015. This program encourages reading for fun with free activities and programs for children and teens.

The KICK-OFF to our Library Fun Fest 2015 begins June 8th from 10:00a.m.-12:00pm in the library parking lot. Come see the Amazing Aaron: juggler and story/joke teller or enjoy a snow cone and all sorts of fun activities that we will have that morning!

How does the program work? Children and Teens will receive reading logs to keep track of their reading time, and will redeem prizes for the time that they read. Programs include crafts, storytelling, puppet shows, movies, Lego Wedo, Lego Mindstorm EV3 Robotics, music and games. Special performers include Margaret Clauder the puppeteer, Matt Tardy the magician, Victoria Bach Festival and Move Your Tale: Improv for Youth.

So make your summer count and join us for all the fun and remember that all programs are free and open to families of all ages.

The Library Fun Fest 2015 is sponsored by the Victoria Public Library and Friends of the Library. For more information contact us at 361-485-3302 or www.victoriapubliclibrary.org.
