What's black and white and is heading to the Texas Zoo? A Grant's Zebra! A community fundraising effort was successful by raising enough money to bring the animal that was found North Texas-Oklahoma border and it was headed for auction, because it was 'too gentle', according to the zebra's owners.
Texas Zoo Executive Director Liz Jensen said they had been contacted last week about the animal, and they decided to start a crowdfunding campaign to raise the $4500 to buy it.
The zebra is expected to be debuted at the zoo sometime in March, in addition to a revamped petting zoo. The nameless zebra will also have a community vote  on name suggestions.
