DJ/producer Zeke Thomas, the son of former NBA star Isiah Thomas, speaks out about his personal experiences for Sexual Assault Awareness Month in a PSA for the National Sexual Violence Resource Center. In the moving black-and-white video, Thomas offers comforting phrases family and friends can share with those who confide in them about their rape or sexual assault.

Thomas also appeared on Good Morning America to talk about the fact that he was raped. There is a disclaimer by the interviewer that the video below contains "A sensitive but very, very important topic. We want to give you a heads up." According the segment and the CDC, more than 19.5 million men in the United States "are the victims of contact sexual violence, including rape, over the course of their lives."

"Being gay, being African-American, it’s definitely something that I never imagined would happen to me," Thomas says. He hopes to share his experience so that it may help others.

Thomas adds, "I want to give the voiceless a voice. And hope, definitely."

Other celebrities who have spoken out about their sexual assaults in order to help survivors include Lady Gaga and Abigail Breslin.
