A 12-year-old Texas boy has just been found guilty of murder after shooting a Sonic employee to death.

ALTERCATION AT TEXAS SONIC TURNS DEADLY

Earlier this year in May, a Sonic employee in Fort Worth and a customer got into an altercation that turned deadly. 32-year-old Matthew Davis was working at Sonic when he noticed a man urinating on-site.

Davis confronted the man, who has been identified as 20-year-old Angel Gomez, for “being disorderly in the parking lot." The two men began arguing and it quickly became physical.

Gomez's 2-year-old nephew was sitting in the passenger seat at the time. However, when the young boy saw his uncle become physical with the employee, he jumped out of the car and got involved.

YOUNG BOY MAKES LIFE-CHANGING DECISION

The unnamed 12-year-old boy grabbed a loaded AR-style .22 rifle, then fired at least 6 rounds into Davis, killing him.

“A confrontation between two adults became physical at which point the 12-year-old boy got out of the vehicle and fired multiple shots, striking the victim,” the sheriff’s office said.

FLEEING THE SCENE

Police were called but the uncle and his nephew fled the scene in a car. Gomez ended up returning to the scene and was taken into custody. The young boy was located and arrested in Rio Vista.

A recent ruling found Gomez and his nephew guilty of murder. Investigators and law officials involved in the case could not release much information and explained, "We had Deputies present for this trial. Please understand there is much more than what we can speak of due to the suspect(s) being a minor and additional charges and trials possible in the future."
