It was a scene straight out of a Hollywood movie.

A man in Dallas Texas climbed his way to the top of a sky high crane without permission, battling bad weather overnight with no explanation as to why he was there.

Authorities in Dallas spent over 24 hours trying to coax a man down after he had climbed to the top of the construction crane.

It was touch and go for over 24 hours as traffic continued to back up while Dallas Fire-Rescue and SWAT crews responding to the scene, at the 1000 block of Singleton Boulevard. Spectators began to crowd the area, while helicopters were also deployed.

It was an all out effort to help better understand why an unidentified man would climb to the top of a crane and pace back and forth for most of the day until heavy rains drew him to the shelter of the crane's cab.

Authorities were eventually able to bring the man food and water talking to the gentleman trying to get answers and the help the man needed.

Officers eventually called on a crane operator to safely bring the man down from the crane. The initial rescue effort was thwarted due to strong winds, then heavy rain which  causing the boom of the crane to swing, risking multiple lives.

Speculation is that the man who is now thankfully safe and in custody was contemplating life and would have likely not come down safely without the help of the  crane operator and authorities there to help calm him.
