Terrifying Malfunction as Plane Headed to Texas Loses Part of Its Wing
SCARY TWIST MID-AIR
Coming from someone who has a deep anxiety stricken fear of flying, this story makes my paranoia escalate. Tuesday night an American Airlines flight from South Carolina to Texas took a scary turn.
SHOCKING DISCOVERY DURING FLIGHT
Flight 3729 was flying in from Charleston, South Carolina to the DFW Airport. During the flight, the plane began to experience severe turbulence as they were flying over Alabama. A report filed with the Federal Aviation Administration revealed a shocking discovery.
A VITAL PIECE MISSING
The plane was inspected after its prompt landing in Alabama. The shocking inspection revealed an entire piece of the right winglet was missing. That means, as the plane was thousands of feet in the air, a vital part of the aircraft broke off.
A PASSENGER FROM THE FLIGHT
One of the passengers took to Twitter to share the experience. Brandon Owen admitted it was a "surprisingly smooth flight and landing after the fact." He shared these photos of the missing winglet after the plane was safely landed at Birmingham International Airport.
