TX Man Searched ‘Can I Kill Illegal Human?’ Before Killing Fiancé
A 31-year-old Baytown man accused of shooting his "undocumented immigrant" boyfriend in the face continues to have evidence stacked against him.
Ty Vaughn claims he and his 27-year-old fiancé, Luis Banos Norberto, had been arguing before Norberto's death. According to Vaughn, he tried reaching out to Norberto via text and never received a reply.
"Babe? Babe why are you not texting back?!?!" the texts read.
THE TIMELINE NOT ADDING UP
Vaughn claimed to return home around 5:30 a.m. A phone call to 911 was made at 5:38 am from Vaughn who told the emergency operator, "My spouse is dead. Help. My life is over." However, evidence suggests there was more to the story.
Surveillance video pieces together a different story. Vaughn is captured on camera walking up the stairs to his apartment at 4:07 a.m. Neighbors admit to hearing a gunshot around that same time frame.
More than 90 minutes later, Vaughn called 911 to report Norberto's death.
SUICIDE OR STAGED?
According to the affidavit, when officers arrived, they found Norberto dead with a rifle lying next to his arm and a torn-up photo of him and Vaughn nearby.
As investigators began to look into the situation, they noticed Vaughn referring to his deceased fiancé as an "undocumented immigrant." Google searches on Vaughn's phone also revealed incriminating searches like, "Can I kill an illegal human?"
Vaughn made odd comments to ABC13 when they offered him condolences for the death of his boyfriend, "I mean, it is what it is," Vaughn strangely replied.
Vaughn is currently at the Harris County Jail with a $500,000 bond.
