Come Out and Support The Jaguars Wednesday
In case you missed it today….Q 92 sister stations KIXS 108 and The Rock had Andre Del Bosque and Stephen Shorkey from the Jaguars on air this morning. Q 92 wants to invite you to come out and support them on May 1st-3rd at the A.I.I. Conference Tournament at Riverside Stadium.
Stephen Shorkey is a junior at UHV from Pearland and is second baseman for the Jaguars. He is majoring in business and was named Association of Independent Institutions Conference Male Athlete of the Week for the week of April 15-21.Shorkey helped spark the Jaguars to a perfect 6-0 week that included four wins over A.I.I conference for LSU-Alexandria. His favorite place to eat is Buffalo Wild Wings. His favorite player is Robinson Cano of the New York Yankees. He and Andre both enjoy playing Xbox and working out.
Andre Del Bosque is a sophomore at UHV and the pitcher. Andre is from Victoria and attended St. Joseph High School. He is majoring in biology. His favorite place to eat is Vera Cruz and Venturas., His favorite player is Roman Madrid of the of the San Diego Padres Minor League Team. His favorite song is “Wanted” by Hunter Hayes.
California State University-San Marcos was named the top seed Sunday for the 2013 Association of Independent Institutions Conference Baseball Championships. LSU-Alexandria will come in as the number 2 seed, while Ashford University follows at No. 3, Fisher College at No. 4 and host UHV at No. 5. The tournament champion will earn automatic a berth to the NAIA Nationals Opening Round Tournament on May 9-13 at sites still to be determined. The NAIA World Series will be held May 24-31 at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. Fisher (33-15) and UHV (19-21) will meet in the tournament opener on Wednesday at 10 a.m., while LSUA (36-18) and Ashford (23-16) will go against each other at 1:30 p.m. The Fisher-UHV winner will meet CSUSM (32-10) in the day's wrap up game at 5 p.m. Action on Thursday has games at 9 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m., while play wraps up on Friday with a loser's bracket final at 9 a.m. and the championship game to start at 12:30 p.m. in the double-elimination tournament.
