Dac Prescott Becomes Second Cowboys QB to Throw for 500 Yards

The Dallas Cowboy's overall record might not be what we had hoped for at the beginning of the season, but despite being 1-3, Dac Prescott is putting up some numbers through the air.

This past Sunday's 49-38 loss by the Cowboys to the Cleveland Browns brings many questions to mind, and not all of them are about the Cowboys. Such as, when is the last time the Cleveland Browns put up 49 points against anybody? And, how can Dac throw for 500 yards and his defense then goes and gives up over 300 yards on the ground? Both sides of the ball kind of wash each other out. Ahh, now 1-3 makes a lot more sense.

The guys over at ESPN are comparing Prescott's season so far with the kind of numbers put up by Tony Romo back in 2011, 12, and 13. Romo is also the only other Dallas QB to have thrown for more than 500 yards in a Cowboys uniform. Romo's big game in the air also ended in a loss.

In Sunday's post-game interviews, Prescott said, "No matter what happens in the game, we're never going to give up. This team's going to always be resilient. We're going to stay at it."

If the Cowboys are going to remain in the hunt they have got to start putting up some stops on the defensive side of the ball. The 2020 Dallas Cowboys have given up 146 points in the first 4 weeks. That's more points allowed than any team in franchise history. If they keep coughing up 27 or more points a game they will give up nearly 600 points by seasons end. Yikes!

Seems like any time the Cowboys give up more than 27 it almost always ends with them on the losing end. Now we could say that about most any team in the NFL, but if you plan on watching the Cowboys host the Giants next weekend you'll keep that number in mind. On the bright side, when is the last time the New York Giants scored 27 points? Here's to a Cowboys victory next week and getting back to even.
