2 Houston Men Killed After a Deadly Deal Leads to Car Jacking
A late-night altercation in Houston turned violent, erratic, and deadly this past weekend.
LATE NIGHT GAS STATION TRANSACTION
Just before 2 am, a white Mercedes pulled into a Houston gas station; the Mercedes had at least two men inside. The men inside the vehicle were meeting with another group of people inside a black Nissan Altima.
A surveillance video shows a man step out of the Nissan and get into the back seat of the Mercedes. Sgt. Michael Arrington with HPD Homicide explained the men were conducting some type of "transaction inside the vehicle."
TRANSACTION ESCALATES
Things quickly turned violent inside the Mercedes. The suspect in the backseat began firing multiple rounds inside the car; it's unknown what lead up to this violent reaction.
The driver inside the Mercedes was struck by gunfire but quickly escaped from the vehicle and ran inside the gas station. Bloody and wounded he made his way inside to call for help, dropping money on the floor as he escaped from his vehicle. The person in the backseat quickly jumped into the driver's seat and took off in the Mercedes.
STILL A PASSANGER INSIDE
There was still a passenger in the Mercedes as the shooter fled the scene. At some point in the escape, the passager was thrown from the moving vehicle.
The driver who was shot made it to the hospital but was pronounced dead soon after. The passenger, who was thrown from the Mercedes, was also pronounced dead; it is unknown if he was injured in the shooting or, if his death was caused by the injuries after being thrown from the moving vehicle.
