Drake Urges Mayor to Improve City’s Wi-Fi So He Can Work on New Album

There's some new Drake music on the way—if he can get the beats he needs to rap over.

In a post shared to his Instagram Story on Tuesday night (July 30), Drizzy called out the mayor of Toronto suburb Pickering because apparently, the city's weak Wi-Fi is messing with his upcoming album.

"Can the mayor of Pickering set up some stronger wifi towers so @boi1da can be able to send me all his newest beats? Trying to cook up. Thanks. - Drake," Drizzy wrote in his Instagram story.

Back in April, Drake revealed that he had plans to work on a new album. “This is one of my favorite places to be in the world,” Drake said on stage in London during his Assassination Vacation Tour. “So I what I’ma do, I kinda started night last night to be honest with you. But I think what I’m going to do after this is go home and I’ma make a new album so I can come back to London next year and so we can do this again.”

Then in June, Drake confirmed he was in album mode in a series of Instagram posts. This came shortly after the Toronto Raptors NBA Championship win, with which he dropped a few loose singles to celebrate, including one with Rick Ross. Most recently, he appeared alongside Ross on another track, "Gold Roses," which will live on Ross' forthcoming album.
